La votación de la Foto de la Semana de Lausana fue sumamente interesante. La elección comenzó liderada por la foto de Delly Carr que muestra la largada masculina, el azul del agua. Sin embargo, hacia mitad de la semana, la toma de los fanáticos daneses tomó fuerza. Con etiquetas como #naranjaeslomás y numerosas expresiones de aliento para Holanda en los comentarios debajo de la votación, la imagen N° 7 de Jan van Berkel pasando el relevo a su compañero de equipo Danne Boterenbrood incrementó el número de votos en un 40 por ciento. El último día de votación, los seguidores húngaros se volcaron a la foto de Janos que muestra a Zsofia Kovacs creando ondas en el agua, aunque solo consiguieron un 26,29 por ciento, mientras que la N° 7 llegó al 32,74, lo que le dio el pase a la final.

Van Berkel, protagonista de la foto, twitteó que no podía pensar en un modo mejor para describir la dinámica del formato de relevos.

En Lausana Delly Carr y Janos Schmidt estuvieron presentes por lo que esta semana serán dos los fotógrafos que nos den su opinión. Delly seleccionó la imagen de la largada porque satisface a la perfección el criterio de de la fotografía deportiva.

“Mi foto favorite de todo el año en lo que respecta a largadas. Gomez, Brownlee, Brownlee, color, reflejos, flechas, y acción. Para un fotógrafo deportivo, no podría ser mejor.

Por su parte, Janos eligió a Melanie Annaheim vivando a sus compañeros suizos en el evento de Triatlón por Equipos.

“Realmente disfruto de los campeonatos mundiales de triatlón por equipos en Lausana por la atmósfera tan especial que se crea en el lugar, que es diferente a las demás carreras de triatlón del año. En lugar de esforzarse para su propio triunfo, lo que habitualmente hacen durante la temporada de competencias, los atletas están en equipos y se alientan los unos a los otros con devoción.”
