IMPORTANT SWIM UPDATE:
We were so close…up until one week ago Do North Events and the water advisory team was feeling certain about our Americas Triathlon Cup elite and junior river swim. However, due to significant rain in the region over the past week the quality of the water in the North Saskatchewan river has fallen below provincial health standards. As such, Alberta Health Services, World Triathlon, and the City of Edmonton have recommended not to hold a river swim. Therefore, the 2024 Americas Triathlon Cup elite & junior triathlon will now be a duathlon – run, bike, run. The Triathlon Canada Junior Development Series Race swim will now be held in the Queen Elizabeth outdoor pool. The Do North Triathlon pool swim and event will remain the same.
Our commitment to safety is and always has been our primary concern. We were closer than ever to our first-ever river swim in a major competition, however it’s critical we do what’s best for our athletes. We thank you so much for your patience, and appreciate everyone’s ability to adapt with us on short notice. Do North Events will ensure the Americas Triathlon Cup weekend is still a great experience for all involved.
