The Series

The Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series brings together the best triathletes in the world to compete on a head to head basis throughout the season. With six ITU World Championship events and a Grand Final, the Series provides a season full of entertainment and excitement.

Starting in Sydney Harbour in April, the triathletes will circumnavigate the globe in their hunt for glory. Moving on to Asia and the iconic city of Seoul, the athletes change focus to Europe and Madrid, Hamburg and the 2012 Olympic venue in London before an alpine retreat to Kitzbühel, Austria and the Grand Final in Budapest, Hungary.

Each event carries $150,000 of prize money with a year-end bonus pool of $500,000, creating the largest prize purse in the sport of triathlon.

All of the races are shown live on television and online via www.triathlon.org/tv, providing fans with the opportunity to see all their favourite athletes take every step of their journey to the podium.

Each event, aside from Sydney, will include an Age Group competition allowing amateur triathletes to race alongside their elite counterparts with qualifying places up for grabs for the ITU Triathlon Age Group World Championships in Budapest.
